Tammam holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences from Portland State University, Oregon; a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from American International College, Massachusetts; a Masters in Rehabilitation Science, and a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from UBC. He has been a practicing clinician for 24 years in different clinical, academic, and leadership roles. As an occupational therapist, he worked in diverse clinical settings, including acute care, intensive care units, and outpatient care units. He has advanced training and expertise in neurological rehabilitation. Tammam was a faculty lecturer at the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy at McGill University, Montreal. At present, he is a clinical instructor at the Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy faculty at UBC and Chair of the Neurology Practice Network at The Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists-BC.

As a clinical counsellor in psychology, Tammam integrates different theoretical orientations in his counselling approach with particular interest in using Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). He has diverse clinical interests with a special focus on acquired brain injuries, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
